Thailand named Best Country in the World for Holiday by Ultratravel Middle East readers

Dubai, UAE, 10 December, 2015 – Thailand was named the Best Country in the World for Holiday in 2015, according to a survey with more than a thousand respondents conducted by Ultratravel Middle East Magazine.

Thailand bested out Australia, the Maldives, South Africa and USA on the same category. The full list of winners has been published in the winter 2015 issue of Ultratravel.

The Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards (ULTRAs) recognise the best in luxury travel based on readers’ vote on the places, airlines, hotels they visit and the services they enjoy. The ‘Ultratravel 100 Awards’ presentation ceremony and glittering gala dinner took place at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah on 25 November, 2015.

Mr. Chalermsak Suranant, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai and Middle East Office said: “This is the result of the tireless efforts made by the public and private sectors most especially TAT over the last 10 years to reinvent Thailand and take advantage of its extensive tourism and travel opportunities.

“Visitors to Thailand feel it is truly an ultimate holiday getaway with a perfect mixture of the old and the new. The distinctive character of each cities and provinces from North to South is the result of Thailand’s long-standing freedom while opening itself to all positive things beyond its borders,” he added.

Ultratravel Middle East Magazine is a publication of the Abu Dhabi Media which also publishes key newspapers such as The National and Al Ittihad.
