Yacht Legal Services — Langkawi Registration from Phuket | Haris and Associates

What we do

Everything your yacht transaction needs,
in one place

From drafting the Sale and Purchase Agreement to releasing funds from escrow, we manage the full process — so you sign once and we handle the rest.

Sale and Purchase Agreement

We draft and review the full SPA in English, including all schedules, parties' details, and vessel particulars — compliant with Thai law and LIYR requirements.

Escrow Agent services

Funds held securely at Siam Commercial Bank, Phuket. Released to the Seller only when every agreed condition is verified. Full protection for both sides.

Bill of Sale — notarized

Prepared and certified in-house by our in-house Notary Public. No need for a third-party notary or apostille in most cases.

Power of Attorney

POA for both Buyer and Seller — drafted, executed, and notarized by our in-house Notary Public. Enables our team to act on your behalf across all authorities.

UK / EU flag deletion

We coordinate the deletion application to the UK Ship Register (MCA) or other flag state, and obtain the Certificate of Deletion required for re-registration.

Langkawi registration (LIYR)

Full liaison with our appointed LIYR-registered local agent in Langkawi. We prepare and forward the complete document package for submission to the flag office.

MMSI license application

After the Certificate of Registry is issued, we coordinate the MMSI and radio call sign application through the appropriate Malaysian authority.

Full transaction management

We coordinate between all parties — Buyer, Seller, UK Ship Register, Langkawi agent, and Marine Department — from start to close. You sign once. We do the rest.

How it works

From agreement to
Certificate of Registry

01

Sign the SPA and Escrow Agreement

Both parties execute the Sale and Purchase Agreement and Escrow Agreement. Digital signatures accepted.

02

Funds deposited into escrow

Buyer wires the purchase price to our designated SCB escrow account in Phuket. Funds held securely.

03

Documents prepared and notarized

Bill of Sale, Power of Attorney, and all supporting documents prepared and certified in-house.

04

Deletion from current registry

We coordinate the deletion from the UK Ship Register or other current flag state. Certificate of Deletion obtained.

05

LIYR registration submitted

Complete document package sent to Langkawi. Flag office reviews and issues the new Certificate of Registry.

06

Funds released — transaction complete

All conditions verified. Purchase price released to Seller. MMSI applied for. Transaction closed cleanly.

Registration in Langkawi is completed by constructive delivery — legal title transfers through documents. Your yacht does not need to move to Malaysia.

The Bill of Sale, Power of Attorney, and supporting documents are notarized in our Phuket office — no third-party notary, no apostille delays in most cases.

Three

International buyers welcome

We regularly handle transactions involving European Sellers and international Buyers. All documentation is in English. Funds can be wired in USD.

Four

Secure escrow, every time

Purchase funds are held in a designated account at SCB, Phuket — not released until every condition in the Escrow Agreement is verified and confirmed.
